Call for Entries: Make Your Mark(click here for submission form) 2010-2011 Solo Exhibitions
Call for Entries The Doshi Center for Contemporary Arts was founded in 1972 by Maya Schock, along with a group of community volunteers. "Doshi" is a Japanese word meaning "brotherhood." Still run by a group of local artists serving in a volunteer capacity, the Doshi maintains its original mission - to highlight new and inventive work by emerging and established artists. In 1997, the Doshi was incorporated into the Susquehanna Art Museum as the Doshi Gallery for Contemporary Art. The Doshi Gallery features about ten exhibits per year. All of the works exhibited are chosen by a panel of jurors, and a majority of the works on display are available for purchase. Exhibiting at the DOSHIAll artists who are residents of Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, York, Adams, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Schuylkill, Northumberland, Montour, Union, Snyder, Lycoming, Columbia, Sullivan, Luzerne, Wyoming, or Lackawanna Counties are eligible for participation in the jurying process. The next selection will be in 2009. Submission guidelines are as follows: The DOSHI Gallery retains a 40% commission on works sold. Please contact exhibitions manager Amy Hammond at 717-233-8668 x 4 if you have any questions.
