Overview

Ben Herr:  Metamorphosis presents a rare opportunity.  Viewers of this exhibition will have the chance to see 55 years of Abstract Expressionist creations by Lancaster resident Ben Herr.  This collection of innovative and unprecedented paintings, constructions, sculptures and collages represents the use of an abstract language to create a visual autobiography.  The artist studied with the masters of the art movement that placed America in front of the art world.  The exhibition is accompanied by creations of the era’s masters, including artwork from the collections of Thomas E. and Marcia W. Philips; the Everhart Museum of Natural History, Science and Art, Scranton; the Thomas McCormick Gallery, Chicago; Vincent Vallarino Fine Art Ltd, New York; and the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Greensburg.

The exhibit's opening public reception will be held on Thursday, September 24th from 4-8 PM.
