ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS The Susquehanna Art Museum enjoys the unique role it plays in the community, and with long-term support from the Allied Arts Fund, Harristown Development Corporation, many individuals and Museum members, and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, we are able to present exhibitions such as this one. The Board of Directors of the Susquehanna Art Museum actively participated in planning A Thin Line - A Broad Brush: The Art of Bruce Johnson. The professional staff of the Susquehanna Art Museum approached this exhibition with hard work, energy, and an eye to the Museum's audience. The Museum's success is a byproduct of this team's efforts. The Susquehanna Art Museum would like to thank Bruce and Donna Johnson for enthusiastically embracing our interest in Bruce's career and work. The Johnsons opened up the vaults for us, and the result is an exhibition that shows the work of Bruce's teachers, his peers, and the evolution of a career in art. Dr. Lori Verderame of Masterpiece Galleries served as the Susquehanna Art Museum's curator for this exhibition, and she devoted her time and skill to giving this exhibition its substance. With her excellent credentials and willingness to get to the task at hand, Dr. Verderame included works that will be of interest to the viewer and the student of art. We are also grateful to Masterpiece Galleries for lending and arranging the loans of artwork for this exhibition. We thank the many private lenders to the show for their parting, if only for a short time, with works near and dear to them in order that our audiences may enjoy them. These include Mr. and Mrs. William H. Alexander, Mrs. Elizabeth Hallman, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Dane Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. James Musselman, Mr. James Woland, Mr. Ken Zellner, and lenders who wish to remain anonymous. The exhibition catalog was made possible through the generosity of Suzanne H. Arnold, The Camella Group, Linda Camella, Merrill Lynch, and Donald Blyler Offset. Walker's Art and Framing has sup- ported the Susquehanna Art Museum in developing signage and providing framing for works never exhibited previously. The Susquehanna Art Museum was pleased to receive additional funding for the exhibition from the Alfred Pellegrini Family and Beth and Richard Schluter. We thank all other supporters who contributed to this exhibition of the Susquehanna Art Museum. Rusty Baker,
