Legacy of Excellence:
Artistic Achievements of Older Pennsylvanians
opens on Sunday, December 14, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Susquehanna
Art Museum and will be on display through February 29, 2004. The
reception on January 11, 2004 is free and open to the public.
Legacy of Excellence is a celebration of
lives well lived and art well made. The exhibition will feature
Pennsylvania artists who, while in their 80's, are still working,
still curious, and still discovering. The works on display will
include photography, watercolor, oil painting, and sculptures crafted
of plexi, wood and ceramic.
Curated by Patricia Murray and Clyde McGeary,
the exhibition will feature 30 to 40 works by artists including
Thaddeus Mosley, Michael Lasuchine, Charles LeClair, Aaronel de
Roy Gruber and Evelyn Keyser. The curators and artists will offer
comments concerning the development of the exhibition during the
opening.
The opening will also feature a screening
of the video Legacy of Excellence that has been produced and developed
by WITF. This video features interview with the artists and showcases
them at work in their studios.
