Exhibition Overview
|
Photography as Fine Art is a juried exhibition of photographs from artists around the Commonwealth and artists who were invited based upon their experience and the exemplary nature of their work. Paula Chamlee, Larry Fink, Michael Smith, and Henry Troup are among the invited artists. This exhibition is our first that is devoted entirely to photography from artists working and living in Pennsylvania. Photography as Fine Art is a glimpse at the broad range of artists working in our state and the different approaches artists take to making images with photographic technologies. Black and white, color, and digital images will be part of this exhibition. Photography as Fine Art is intended to start conversations about art, photography, and our experiences. What makes a photograph worthy of exhibition or contains it to a family photo album is one distinction at the heart of this exhibition celebrating photography and its place in contemporary art. Full color catalog with essay by juror Ben Lilfson is available for $5 plus 6% PA Sales Tax and $3 shipping if necessary.
