Symposium on Photography
A symposium on photography was held on Saturday morning, January 15, 2005 at the Susquehanna Art Museum after the 9 a.m. Awards Ceremony in conjunction with the opening of the Photography as Fine Art exhibition. The panel included Ben Lifson, a writer, critic, historian, teacher, photographer, and exhibition juror. He was joined by Larry Fink, one of the most notable photographers in the country whose focus is photojournalism with an eye for social commentary. Kathryn Ware, curator of photography at the Philadelphia Museum of Art was also there along with Steve Perloff, one of the leading authorities on collecting photography. Ron Talbot, head of the photography department at HACC, rounded out the panel.
This educational opportunity is a part of an ongoing series of lectures and programs of the Susquehanna Art Museum. Following opening comments from each presenter, a discussion and question and answer session followed.
